Advanced AML and CFT training
- How to identify, handle and stop money-laundering and financing of terrorists.
Todays money laundering organisations, include some of the most notorious criminal organisations and hostile intelligence agencies in the world. Their methods are highly advanced, and enable them to circumwent basic compliance approaches to mitigate against Money Laundering.
This course enables participants to find and handle perpetrators who are conducting money laundering in an organisation. They are taught, trained, and learn how to identify money laundering. This is done by focusing on modus operandi of various money laundry organisations by investigating their footprint, transactions, owners and so on.’
We will introduce advanced money laundering schemes based on real examples, and how these can be identified and countered. We introduce the skills for using risk assessments to find the most likely customers where laundering can take place, and then show how to use due diligences at a low, medium and high level to identify schemes. Moreover, we explain how external providers may be used to conduct risks ratings and due diligences. Finally, we will teach how perpetrators are handled correctly when found, which includes security and crisis management measures.

What is a good due diligence? - The difference between a Red-flag investigation, low level and high level due diligences and open-sources versus source enquiries
How to access whether there is reason for suspicion
When and how suspected clients, transactions or investments should be reported
Duration
This course takes two days of full lessons and exercises. The first day focuses on introducing methods and knowledge of schemes. The second day is a workshop where participants are working with relevant cases to use the introduced skills.
Training Methods
The course can either be made online as a two day interactive webinar (6 hours/day excluding 1 hour break), or it can be made as a workshop on site if requested.
Requirements
Participants of this course should have prior understanding of AML and CFT compliance and the methods used, and be familiar with abbreviations used in AML and CFT. They should have made several DD’s and ODD’s, know how to use RBA and be familiar with challenges of KYC. It is recommended to take the course ‘Anti- money laundering and Countering Financing off Terrorist’ method training first.
